Jesus ate meat. So, for Christians, sitting down to a roast chook should be a pretty cut and dried theological decision shouldn't it?

The Rev. Barbara Allen, Animal Chaplain at the Lort Smith Animal Hospital in Melbourne, said that a lot has changed in farming practices since Christ’s day to make the ethics of eating more complicated.

Lawyers and philosophers vigorously debate and advocate for animal rights but MS Allen wants the church to recognise it as an issue of stewardship, too.
