Farmers: Cared for and Caring

Neil Westcott is quick to warn me that if I’ve come looking for pictures of cracked riverbeds and sheep skulls I’ve come to the wrong farmer.

He’s an optimist, with good reason.

This year has been good to him so far. His 2,400 hectare farm outside Parkes supports his family, growing canola, wheat and corn. His paddocks are in better shape than ever, his latest canola crop has just emerged and he’s looking forward to buying more land when he can.
