Small and large businesses, not-for-profit groups, state government agencies and local councils committed to environmental excellence in NSW are being encouraged to nominate for the 2009 Green Globe Awards.
The Department of Environment and Climate Change NSW (DECC) is calling on nominations from organisations and individuals who can demonstrate significant achievements in the sustainable use of natural resources in NSW and leadership in tackling climate change. Nominations for the leading environmental awards are open until 5:00pm (EST) on Thursday 11 June 2009.
Now in its 10th year, the NSW Government’s Green Globe Awards will feature 14 categories including a new community and Local Government Sustainability Award to honour organisations for superior performance in the development and delivery of sustainability initiatives.
Since their inception, the Green Globe Awards continue to attract an increasingly high calibre and quantity of nominations, helping to showcase environmental excellence across NSW.
Winners will be announced at an invitation only gala ceremony hosted by the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment, the Hon. Carmel Tebbutt MP, at NSW Parliament House on Tuesday 28 July 2009.
